The Pacific Northwest's premiere tiki event, Tiki Kon, celebrates its ninth year in 2011. This year the three-day Polynesian Pop extravaganza will benefit the American Red Cross.

Day
11am: Visit Thatch, Portland's uniquely 'modern' Tiki Bar. Then board the 'Bus of Rum' to go visit the ScooTiki: Mods & Gods tiki art show at Elroy Artspace gallery, where you'll see your favorite Tiki artists, try the new ColonelTiki.com signature 'Scootiki' tiki cocktail and see/buy the new "Scootiki' mug by MUNKTIKI!
Night
7pm: The Tiki Kon IX: Tabu! evening extravaganza at the Kenton Masonic Lodge. Signature cocktails and food will be served in the Forbidden Terrace overlooking the dance floor and stage. Delight in the sounds of the Lava Lounge Orchestra and DJ Drew Groove's audible exotic delicacies. Be amazed at the Tabu! marketplace of decadent sundries. Don your finest and don't forget your dancing shoes!
Sunday, July 17
11am-7pm: The 9th annual Original Home Tiki Bar Tour starts with brunch at Portland's longest-surviving and still thriving Alibi Lounge. From there, you'll be whisked away for a tour of Portland's finest Home bars. You'll visit old favorites such as the Castaway Cove as well as be treated by surprise stops and ohana along the way!
Tickets cost $75 until June 26, when the price goes up to $85.
The organizers also have some lovely souvenir glassware for sale for $8.
