The worlds of sci-fi and low-brow don’t cross very often, but when they do the results can be severely smile-inducing.
Dr. Who fan and do-it-yourselfer Kevin P. Roche created this stunning and hilarious Tiki Delek for the Gallifrey One, North America’s annual Dr. Who convention. It took first prize in the Masquerade of Mandragora costume presentation, and rightfully so. Those of you who are Tardis-friendly will appreciate the fine details.

TDK (Tiki Dalek Kraziness) also put in an appearance for fun at the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition this last weekend, bringing Greetings from the sunny beaches of Skaro…

It’s great fun taking him for a spin through an appreciative crowd.
One thing though — you’ve mashed my middle initial into my last name. It’s Kevin P. Roche (not to be confused with the famous Irish architect).

Thanks for the correction Kevin — I was guessing your name from the Live Journal page. It’s corrected in the story now. And thanks for the link!

My pleasure. I’m also really excited to announce that the organizers of the BarBot2011 competition have invited me to display TDK at their event this Saturday in San Francisco!
