Sam’s Seafood is now Don the Beachcomber!
The Seal Beach Daily has reported what I think is good news -- Huntinton Beach's historic Sam's Seafood that closed, reopened as Sam's Seafood, became Kona, and was going to become Sam's Seafood again, is now officially the mainland's only Don the Beachcomber.
The new owners of the restaurant apparently licensed the rights to the name (the Hawaiian locations are run by another company, due in part to Don's divorce), otherwise there is no connection to the classic chain, except in that the promise has been made to serve many of Don's classic drink recipes.
