Portland’s Alibi installs tiki bike racks
The Alibi has been a Portland, Oregon fixture since the late 1800s (it began as a horse-and-buggy stop before getting its current name and decor in the 1940s) and now the bar and restaurant has installed a new fixture: bike racks shaped like Easter Island Moai.
The city has been advocating local business' installation of "non-standard" bicycle racks to beautify the city while improving the municipal transportation infrastructure. The Alibi's racks were designed and fabricated by a local metal shop, Cartwright Design.
Could this be the start of a trend?
