Online booking is now available for Tiki Oasis, the West Coast's premier gathering celebrating all things tiki. The event, which is in its seventh year, promises to be bigger and better than ever.
For three days the Hanelei Hotel in San Diego is transformed into an even more tropical paradise, with top exotica and surf bands performing and DJs spinning vintage vinyl, vendors selling unique tiki trinkets and idols, and seminars covering the historical (and fun) stories behind the mid-century tiki movement and where it's going today.
There will be live performances this year from The Engine Room, The Martini Kings featuring Tahitian dancer Tyra, Mai Kai Gents, Ernie Menehune show, King Kukulele, The Blue Hawaiians (who will be debuting their new CD), The Tiki Tones, The Calypso Cats, The Devil-Ettes (dance), and Kitten on the Keys, while Exotica DJs Bardot A Go Go, Satisfaction, DJ Lee, Patrick Robinson, Jack Hughes, and Clint Beachwood/Tiki Tena from KCR Radio, San Diego spin, along with burlsque performers: Lucy Fur, Mimi LeMeaux, Burlesque As It Was, and Kari French.
Artists, including Tiki Oasis poster artist Derek Yaniger and Hawaii-based artist Thor, and authors Beachbum Berry, Sven Kirsten, Pineapple Poet, Michele Baldwin (Burlesque and the New Bump and Grind) will be on hand selling and signing.
It's a jam-packed three days of fun (four if you count the opening party at the famed Bali Hai restaurant) which is not to be missed.
