Oahu’s Polynesian Cultural Center worth a visit
The Polynesian Cultural Center on the island of Oahu has been a tourist attraction since 1963 (its inception was inspired by the Laie Hukilau of 1948, which also inspired Jack Owens to write The Hukilau Song). The Center, oddly enough, is run by the Mormons, but despite this fact does a nice job presenting the stories of the many cultures that make up what we know as polynesia.
The PCC has a very well done website, and its online store has a few items beyond the usual fare, including a $180 reproduction of a Hawaiian Shark Tooth Hand Club that would scare off a would-be attacker a lot more effectively than a can of pepper spray.
