Jazztonik Tiki Tiki cover art Mark Ryden ripoff?
Japanese musician Ryota Nozaki, who records under the name Jazztronik, has nice album of contemporary electronic music with an exotica twist. The album's title track, "Tiki Tiki," stands out in particular.
I was looking at the cover art when all of a sudden it occurred to me that it seemed familiar. Then it dawned on me—the art looks strikingly similar to Mark Ryden's work for "The Exotic Moods of Les Baxter," in particular the drumming guy. Take a look for yourself and compare: the top image is the Jazztronik album, the bottom is Les Baxter, and the center is a detail of the drummer flipped to make the orientation the same.
