Jake Shimabukuro releases solo uke Gently Weeps album
Last February the Internet was ablaze with people linking to to a YouTube video of ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" in New York's Central Park.
Today, Jake releases the U.S. version of a 12-track album of solo ukulele work that finally records the George Harrision song in the studio. The disc also includes four bonus tracks featuring a full band. Produced by Jimmy Buffet guitarist Mac McAnally, the CD sounds gorgeous.
Jake will be touring the US mainland starting in January of 2006.
