Hukilau 2008 postcardHukilau 2008 will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, June 12-15. The annual gathering of tiki fans has grown more elaborate and entertaining each year, and the 2008 event promises once again not to disappoint. Sadly, this will be its last year, so make plans to go!

Events include:

  • a Tiki Art Show with works by Shag, Heather Watts, MilesThompson, Ken Ruzic, The Pizz, Crazy Al Evans & more.
  • live music by King Kukulele, The Fisherman, The Haole Kats!!!, Laramie Dean, Martini Kings, Tikiyaki Orchestra, Slip & The Spinouts, The Intoxicators, and Da Howlies
  • a Tiki Bazaar with vendors from across the country
  • seminars from Jeff “Beachbum” Berry, Charles Phoenix, Bosko, Kevin Kidney, and Mike Skinner
  • live mermaids
  • dinner at the last of the mid-century tiki palaces, The great Mai Kai restaurant
