Disney officially announces return of Enchanted Tiki Room to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

The rumors surrounding the removal of Walt Disney World's controversial "The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management" show were finally confirmed by Disney last week at the Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th event held on May 15th.

The company is still being somewhat crypic in terms of messaging the show's content, saying that the attraction is "undergoing changes behind closed doors that will reshape the attraction into a version reminiscent of the original show." Reminiscent?

As we pointed out before, the removal of the Magic Fountain and it's replacement by the goddess Uh-Oh makes strict return to the original show troublesome. I also wouldn't be surprised if the pre-show script gets an update as well.

The DisneyParks Blog says that the new show, to be titled "The Enchanted Tiki Room," will debut "later this summer." Blog Stitch Kingdom says the date will be August 16, 2011.
