Call of the Tropics, Dayton, Ohio
Dayton, Ohio will play host to some of the top names in the Tiki art world at “Call of the Tropics,” a two-week festival of Tiki art, music and Mid-Century culture on July 6-21 at the Color of Energy Gallery in the city’s historic Oregon Arts District.
The Tiki art show features works by nationally known artists and carvers including Robb Hamel, Doug Horne, Derek Yaniger, “Tiki Tony” Murphy and Dave Hansen, among many others.
The festival also features some of the Dayton region’s best surf and rockabilly bands, a renowned Exotica music DJ, and a legendary Hawaiian singer-guitarist. In addition, several salon programs during the run of the show will feature guest speakers discussing Tiki culture.
All events are free and open to the public.
