$20 hula girl Halloween costume
Halloween is just a little over a month away, so it's probably time to start lining up a costume. In the past we've featured a costume that dresses you up like a tiki drink and tourist outfits for boy & girl dogs, so now here's one strictly for the ladies (or flamboyantly gay men): a version of the classic hula girl outfit for less than $20.
All you really need to pull this off is two items: a raffia skirt and coconut bikini top. The Pandan Rose raffia skirt is a little nicer than the run-of-the-mill version with rose detailing placed around the waist of the skirt, reminiscent of the kinds of traditional skirts i've seen at professional luaus. It's $11.99.
The matching bikini top picks up the rose detail between the shells and also has hanging tassels. It's 4.99. If you want to splurge, there's also a matching hair clip for $2.99.
The really creative can pull a dashboard from a car at a junkyard, carry it with, and become a dashboard hula girl.
